Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data 97FX ("97FX", "we", "us") collects when you use 97fx.com and the 97FX mobile app, why, who we share it with, and your rights.

Who is responsible for your data

97FX, its registered office, is the controller of your personal data. Contact us about anything in this policy at Info@97FX.com.

What we collect and why

Account details – your name, email address and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password; your two-factor authentication setup if you turn it on. We use these to create and secure your account and to send you service emails such as verification, password reset and billing notices. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.

Sign-in and security records – the date and time of each sign-in attempt and its result, your IP address, your browser type and an identifier stored in a cookie on your device. We use these to protect accounts, detect misuse and let you review your own sign-in history. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.

Agreement records – which version of our terms, privacy policy and disclaimer you accepted, when, and from which IP address and browser. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in being able to show what was agreed, and legal obligations.

Things you create – watchlists, portfolios and positions, stock picks, saved filings and notes, alert rules, saved dashboard layouts, backtests, paper-trading orders, preferences and team memberships. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.

Alert contact details – phone numbers, email addresses or webhook addresses you add so that alerts can reach you. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.

Payment information – payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your Stripe customer reference, your membership level, and the status and amount of payments. We never receive or store your full card number. Legal basis: performing our contract with you, and legal obligations to keep financial records.

Connected brokerage accounts – if you connect a broker, we store the access tokens your broker issues, in encrypted form, and read account information such as balances on your behalf. We never receive your brokerage password. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.

AI research questions – the questions you type into the AI research tool, and the excerpts of documents used to answer them, are sent to our AI provider to generate the answer. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.

Feature usage – a count of how often you use features that your membership level limits. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.

Website visits – for visitors to our public pages: the pages viewed, time spent, the referring site, your IP address and an identifier stored in a cookie. We use this to understand how the site is used. Legal basis: your consent where the law requires it, otherwise our legitimate interest in improving the site.

Marketing contact details – your email address, if you are a member or if you gave it to us to use a free tool on our website, so that we can send you news about 97FX. Legal basis: your consent, or our legitimate interest in telling existing customers about our own similar services. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also opt out by writing to Info@97FX.com.

We do not buy personal data from third parties, and we do not use your data to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with companies that help us run the service, and only what each one needs:

• Stripe – payments and subscriptions.
• Amazon Web Services (Simple Email Service) – sending email.
• Microsoft 365 – receiving and answering the emails you send us.
• Cloudflare (Turnstile) – checking that sign-ups come from people, not bots.
• Twilio – sending SMS alerts, if you add a phone number.
• Anthropic – generating AI research answers.
• Your broker – if you choose to connect a brokerage account.
• Our hosting provider – running our servers.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or to a buyer of the business, who would be bound by this policy. We do not sell your personal data.

Where your data is held

Our servers are located in the country where 97FX is established. Some of the companies above process data in other countries, including the United States. Where personal data leaves the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on safeguards the law recognises, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

• Account data and the things you create: for as long as your account is open, and then for a limited period unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
• Sign-in and security records, and agreement records: for as long as needed to protect the service and to show what was agreed, including after your account is closed.
• Payment records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
• Marketing contact details: until you unsubscribe.
• Website visit records: a limited period.

How we protect it

Passwords are stored only in hashed form. Connections to the service are encrypted. Brokerage tokens and the keys we hold for other services are encrypted at rest. Members' own data is separated so that one member or team cannot read another's. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent. Your Data Rights explains each right and how to use it. You can also complain to your data protection authority: the data protection authority in your country.

Children

The service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we publish the new version with its date and ask members to acknowledge it at their next sign-in.
